The organizers are snail-mailing info out on Wednesday - in that they will be including a coupon for the ferry cost!!

I got my stuff today-- its just a $5 off coupon for the boat...
Free fill from CDS... and 10% off the King Neptune on the 24th...

Received my forms today too. The ferry is all booked and paid for - just need to remember to get there EARLY on Saturday!!!

BUT - my dive-buddy is now saying that she cannot make it - apparently she forgot to register online and doesn't want to go all the way to Catalina and not be able to dive.

Anyone looking for a newbie dive-buddy????

I don't think you'll have any problems finding a buddy out there... What site did you choose?

I don't remember CDS having rental tanks at Green Pier last time I did the cleanup~ are they supposed to have them ON site? I really don't want to drag my gear/weights/drysuit/backpack AND a tank if I don't have to...

I waited too late to register online and I'll be registering on site. I dont think she has anything to worry about other than paying an extra 10 bucks. Is there a limit on divers? Besides, even if she could not dive the cleanup, the park is still there =)

If she still cant make it, you can buddy up with JMDiver and I (though we will be wearing 130s )

Apologies if someone has posted this already....

Considerations for taking your own tanks and weights for the clean-up vs renting... There will be a LOT of divers there, a lot of them renting air and ballast so there could be a shortage. Renting a tank will shorten your wait for a fill...the CDS trailer gives fill priority to their tanks. I've waited over an hour to get my tank filled on a busy day, and the cleanup has got to be THE busiest day for the trailer. They only rent AL80s.

Howdy--my first post and all signed up for the dive!---I may be without a buddy as well, I'll be diving off Green Pier sat Morning. Cheers-MM

Not true... I always rent a steel 72 from them when I'm there....
Worried about the potential tank shortage though~ but I really realllllly dont want to drag my own tank out there lol..

I chose Casino Landing - I am sure that the organizers will be able to find dive buddies OR I can do my first "Same Ocean Buddy Dive"!!!

I am now thinking of renting two tanks from my LDS so that I don't have to wait for a refill. Be bit of a hassle but may be worth it.
