As always nice pics gudge ... like the nudi eggs especially and the nemos.

Its great to see that all went well for you Stormy even when things went wrong.

NO DIVING for us this weekend ... canned the Kurnel dive because of conditions and tried old faithful Bare Island, but the gods were against us ... with the NE swell it should have been ok, but a 30 knot westerly made the bay area impossiible and the eastern side was diveable but getting out would have been a fun time. So we went and had a hot chocolate and a chat with friends instead ...

Hey sounds like you did really well at your pool session Stormyseas. :) Rental gear can always be a pain, but yea, chlorine isn't so great for gear so I'd be avoiding using it in the pool as well!

Shame you didn't get out fish + petunia, but hot chocolate is a nice backup plan :)

Got a dive in at Julian rocks this morning (Monday). Bit of difference between vis and water temp. Some spots had 23c water temp with low vis and other spots had 18c water temp and good vis.

Heaps of life getting around with one of the girls spotting a 2m Hammerhead.

It was a great way to start the day. Sea was flat as a tak and the sun a bit of a bite to it.

No housing so no photos........

Regards Aussie

Nice flickr pics too!

Gudge as usual I love your pics... the baby nemos are amazing!
I managed to get a shot ages ago of an Eastern Gobbleguts incubating a mouth full of eggs... mouth open.... I have been following them and Cardinals ever since but no one will let me get a shot of their eggs again...:depressed:
Stormy great job... sure builds confidence when you cope with problems like that... and makes you appreciate your own gear!:D
Aussiebyron how lucky... hammerhead.... I didn't get a really long look at the one in PNG they never hang in long for me!

Here's why we didn't dive yesterday

Nice flickr pics too!

I havnt seen a Hammerhead there yet so I was a little bit excited when I heard about it. I thought the lady who saw it was getting me back for when I saw a Whale shark in Kavieng, PNG and she didnt.

Today the poor vis was about 8m and the good vis 15m alot of thermoclines too. We had some great vis last week (25m+).

We saw a hammerhead in Madang ... just drifting along a deep wall and this single hammerhead comes up checks us out and disappears again.

I notice you have been to Madang AussieByron ... nice pics ... Have I seen some of those on DiveOZ??

Are you interested in doing Invade the Rock first week of March 09??? http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/australia/260218-sb-invade-rock-09-fish-rock-2.html#post4049435

I just got back 3 weeks ago from a 3 week trip to PNG. One week in Madang and two weeks in Lissenung Island, Kavieng.

Yes you would have seen some of my pics on Diveoz. I am under the name DV8Diver. I also posted a link to my flickr location and slowly adding new pics there.

Unfortunately I am not shooting at the moment as my D80 housing is getting serviced and my new D90 housing is on order.
This will mean everything will be swimming around and i wont be able to get shot off.

I have to look into the SWR trip as its been a while since i had a good dive down there with the boys from SWRDC.

Regards Mark
