Wow that's Awesome, we only live about two hours from you and we will be staying at PR at the same time ! My husband has just recently got his dive cert with Gigglin Marlins in Houston. Since my daughter is only 8 she can't dive, so I am going to wait until she turns 10 and we were get certified at the same time. We will be at PR Aug 9th thru Aug 16th. I was planning on him going with Tony, but it seems almost everyone on this site uses Scuba Mau, so I think we may change.

I edited your family into the last roster post above. ScubaMau is a fine Operator and many of us have happily changed to his Op this year, including me - but while you will see a lot of us happy with that choice, I wouldn't take that to mean SM is the most popular really. There are dozens of fine Ops on Coz. If you read one or two "Dive Op Suggestions" threads, you will see a lot of Ops mentioned, some variables to use in selecting an Op, and in some cases both together.

Whomever your hubby decides to dive with, post it here when you do decide and I'll edit that in too.

thanks for the advice. Unfortunately we missed the boat with Mestizo. What we are looking for is a nice boat and small group for easy laid back diving. any recommendations will be appreciated.

Well, Alison, you might think about Alison. As in Scuba Dive Cozumel | ScubaWithAlison She has a converted sport fishing boat the Maximus, so it is larger than the small boats but sports enough horsepower to be as fast or faster with a nice ride. Just one group on the boat. Alison is great fun to spend the dive trip with, but it also always on it for safety. If you want a funny story, she will amuse you. Ask a question and she will educate you. Her Capitan Carlos is also top notch. Dive your full tank. If an airhog is along, she will get him on the boat and you can keep at it. :cheerleader:

Hey DandyDon - here's a bump for ya...

Calling BA today to check availablity for first or second week of August.. Airfare from STL-CZM finally dropped enough that hubby is not screaming in agony!
