For some reason, my mind keeps coming back to "just do it the Breakwater." There is something reassuring about doing dives at the Breakwater

Familiar+reassuring=fun, doesn't it? A breakwater BBQ sounds like a winner to me.

Just to continue the conversation on Lover's, since many people shared there thoughts on this site:

RE: Weddings, I saw one being set up there about a month ago--didn't impact entry/exit at all. Maybe for a large group of divers coming out of the water later if would be different. There were only three of us.

The only event that prohibited diving Lover's so far was the lantern festival a couple of Saturdays ago. We went to Lover's the Sunday after the festival and had a great dive, though, despite the visibility...

I do go there a lot for family reasons, since there are usually plenty of kids boogie boarding when the weather is good. There typically aren't many kids in the water at breakwater...and after >6 months petting bat rays, my family is burned out on the Aquarium as an after-dive activity...(!) Todd

Hi Chuck--do you mean that dive gear needs to be removed from the beach? What about kayaking? Thanks for forwarding detailed info.

I never have set up gear on that beach myself. The people that introduced me to the site set up either out of the cars, onto the picnic tables, or staging on the concrete pier. I've continued with that.

I was loafing on that beach last Wednesday. Three divers went in at 2:30 pm. Can't blame them. It was smooth as glass and you could see the bottom clearly. Just the day before it was terrible. Todd

I read it as you and your gear gotta be off the beach. Gone. No starting the dive at
11:25 and coming back in at noon:30. You can read the law for yourself:
http://www.garlic.com/~triblet/singles/lovers.html Yes, the map's broken.

It only applies on summer weekends and holidays. My guess is some diver kicked sand
on some councilman's daughter.

Whoo Who! another NorCal ScubaBoard Dive get together! I love these!!!!:10:
