Ebay, I would never pay what they want for Titanium.

And she accepted that at face value???

:D

You don't hear that much from this reg but in the BOOT show in Düsseldorf was a big stand, mostly with rebreathers but oK also regs. Is this as good as an atomic?
:idk:

I don't know about Europe, but in the US, while there are many "techs" who will work on Poseidons, few of them are truly competent. To answer your question: Atomic fans will say no. Poseidon fans will say nothing is as good!

For a period of about a 10 years (1995's - 2005), the Poseidon regulator was the standard for technies and techie wanna be's in the US. Everyone had to have a Poseidon to be a techie (at least in the North East USA). This apparent fad seem to have disappeared from the US where other brands/models took over. High end Scubapro and Atomic regulators appear to be the standard today in addition to other brands.

Poseidon support/distribution in the US during this time went through difficult times (I think that it changed at least 3 times during a short period of time). There are also concerns about the Poseidon design and its suitability for tech diving now a days (LP part).

I bought the Atomic ST1 as a christmas present to myself. And now it is back at the dealer waiting for new parts due to the high pitch squeal you get when inhaling. Others report the same problem with atomics, as the design is the same for all models, (only materials differ) You run the same risk with the all titanium version.
Ignoring the squeal, it is great, comfy second stage, the swivel is fantastic, and the quality feeel of the thing is second to none. But to be honest My Mk25 and X650 is great too and half the price.

thanks already guys! When I would go for the N700 it would be the black addition because I don't like shiny things. Gold teeth and chrome wheels just doesn't do it for me! The difference in price here in europe is about 250$ also due to the fact that I have a good relation with the Atomic LDS.
I think I'll go for the TX2 unless somebody can still change my mind!!
:eyebrow:

I don't think anyone will try to change your mind unless they are strictly a ScubaPro dealer. I'm looking at Atomic regulators now and have been kicking myself in the butt for not thinking of them when I initially bought my gear.

I will have to agree with many of the above posters. The T2X is SWEET:D I got to try one out and it breathed like a dream but with all Atomic regulators they all breath the same. You are NOT paying for breathing capability you are paying for what the guts are made out of. The T2X is of coarse titanium. Depending on the kind of diving you are going to be doing you may not need titanium.

I love Scubapro and love the fact that they still service ALL regs that they have sold but with them you are buying breathing capabilities. Each reg is a little different.

If it dont matter to you go with the one you like.

How do regulator service tools extend service intervals?

Or, perhaps you just got a little carried away with your praise of the Atomic brand.:idk:

No, I meant what I said.
Parts wear in and tolerances change over time.
It is adventagous to set up a regulator properly, not over tork and super compress 0 rings, among other things.
I'm am an Atomic Technican, but in 30 years as a service tech, I have been to many brands tech schools, and sold many brands.
