I look at things this way..

Maybe I get a flat tire on the way to work. I start thinking I'm going to have a bad day. Then I ask myself, "Is this the worst thing you've got going on?". Well, if a flat tire is the worst thing in my life, then I'M LUCKY.

Kind of makes you think of what you have that you should be thankful for.

There are things luck applies to...

I feel lucky I:

Haven't been killed by a drunk driver.
Haven't been shot in a drive by.
Everyone in my family is healthy.
Generally haven't suffered due to someone else's malice/stupidity that I can not prevent.

Things luck has nothing to do with:

-My daughter being a wonderful person.
That was a minute by minute effort for the last 11 years.
-I have a good job.
That was a day to day effort for the last 7 years.
-I can provide for my family....see previous.
-I choose to be a happy person satisfied with my life.

Dive safe, dive often.

Hmmmmmm man this thread grew...

I am lucky for hmmmm let me think....still thinking.........wait no that aint one

Oh I am lucky to have a wonderful dog who is the best cattle dog in the state (imo) he works his butt of does not argue and loves to get affection now if i could get him to scuba with me what a site that would be. A big bowl with air being pumped in and a little weight belt. lol

I am also lucky to have a nice 8buckish truck that was the talk on the thread for a bit. (thanks to sea jay)

and i am lucky to have my eyesight to look at all the nice pretty female divers out there, oh maybe i was dreaming thats why we have this thread " how to meet single male divers" cause I do not know any single female divers much less who like big trucks and team ropers, bull riders or the country lifestyle. Oh well

My father was a refugee, a slave labourer, a prisoner of war, a refugee (again) and desperately poor for many years. And yet he was lucky... he survived.

In comparison to his life, mine seems pretty damn good. I'm smart and healthy and generally pretty happy and I have everything I need to get through the day. Of course I am lucky!

I've always thought I was lucky. My Mom & Dad always said so too. Things just seemed to come my way. And I was born on the 13th, which, in spite of popular opinion, I always thought was the luckiest number on the calendar. I've had my share of bad luck as well, but I think it was really a learning experience for me.

Honestly, I haven't worked that hard to get where I am today. It scares me to think what I could have acomplished if I'd applied myself. ;)

I've always been a 'By the seat of my pants' kinda gal.

Now that I have read the book, and taken the tests, I can confirm that I am both lucky and blessed.
There is a difference.
I feel lucky when I get a prime parking space.
I feel blessed about the good health my family is in, and stays in.
I felt lucky when I won a trip for two to Las Vegas.
I feel blessed that I am out of debt.
See the differences?

I'd rather be lucky than good.
