That being said, you cannot possibly expect the government who should fear the citizens they are "governing" if that is what you want to call it, to not also try to regulate who has any weapons, remove the threats where it can, and to track who has them so they can collect them later.
This (gun control) is typical of the fox guarding the hen house, and we all know how that always turns out. Personally I opt for personal freedom, responsibility and would (have) fought to defend your right to speak, even if I do not agree.
In general, it has become so disheartening in this day and age, that nobody can disagree or accomplish anything withing being a target of some left or right wing nut. Common sense, freedom and the ability to have a discussion without it turning into an argument or worse is uncommon these days. It is a shame, it almost always ends up personal, even in the most basic of discussions as demonstrated by almost any thread on this or any other board or subject. Our unwillingness on many topics to allow majority rule and have an honest discourse is shameful. It seems like, in a good part of this thread, already there are those who would prefer to divide and attack rather than have a conversation, and to outright try to start it if it does not happen.
