Roak, check out 'Ed Almond'.He's a hoot .Used to let him dive with us but ran out of compassion, patience and tolerance after so many stories.Seal posers beware Cyberseals will pursue all fakes..to the point of ruining careers and families. My father sent me links to other orgs. which due the same with fake vets and medal wearers. It is a Fed crime to impersonate or wear the honors of any milatary service.

Brothers & Sisters of Navy SEAL discussion,
usnavydeepdiver, roakey, 100days-a-year, et alia,

The correct spelling is always capitalized. SEAL, SEALs. Period.

I responded off-forum to the initial poster, but the response is worth the review. The skills and training received may continue in civilian use long after active duty status. Diving and parachuting are big areas of fun activities. Many LDS's, (local dive shops), may have a SEAL among its participants, owners, boat operators, et cetera.

The current world arena is a delicate balance. Many SEALs, current or prior-service, may frown on your inquiries. Do not be dismayed. Do not expect to charm. If you don't find the information that you need you might try contacting the local U.S. Navy Recruiter and ask for the contact information to the SEAL Detailer in your area, the UDT/SEAL BUDS Training facility or the U.S. Navy web site. (See below.)
There are several dozen Internet sites which address the Spec Ops community and will generally provide a good deal of information.

I went diving with an ex-SEAL in Port St. Joe, FL. He was a riot. He had some cool stories, like retrieving one of the Apollo capsules and being in one of the Airport moves.

His name is Gary and works at Seahorse Water Safari's.

SEALs are okay, I guess. Not quite as good as the British SBS or the French Commando Hubert, and not really as effective as Norwegian, Danish or Swedish commando divers in brown water, but reasonably proficient, in blue water at least ...

They certainly carry some Hollywood clout, though ...

For the most ill-informed, ill researched, baseless, patently false comment I've seen on this board to date.

I know that while watching "Combat Missions" on USA network, I thought that some of the SEALs were acting like they thought they were on MTVs Jackass, and SWAT team members cleaned house, but what do I know, im just a Sea Bee.

Yeah, kinda looks that way doesn't it. :D
Either that or he is just a total and complete friggen retard. (that was the clean version)
Got to agree with Mr. Murchison on this one.

Combat missions had no active military members, they where all former SEALs, or RECON or whatever. Also, it was a RECON guy (nutter) that struck me as the biggest goofoff.
