aqualung i200 - how to check battery status

hey all
got one of these for travel. haven't used it much. was reading through the manual and cannot seem to find out how to check the current battery status. the manual does say it will show you an icon when it is low, but i did not see anywhere about how to check the current status. surely there must be a way ? or are we just supposed to wait until it shows us it is low ? that would seem a bit silly.
anyone know ?

I believe there is no way to check the battery status other than waiting for the low battery symbol to show up (they are different if it happens on the surface or during a dive). Pag, 23 User Manual.

ya thats what i saw too. i had to assume i was missing something as i figured that couldnt be right. pretty ridiculous not to be able to check.
