Suggestion April Fools went too far

This past 4/1 the mods decided to allow certain controls to be turned of to help play a joke on the rest of us. (I am pointing directly at the
"Pssst...lets talk about them while they are not here" thread in Humor forum)
In a pm to me I was accusesed of personally attacking someone.

I fell for the joke and unintentionally caused someone else some pain.
For causing someone else pain I am truelly sorry.

In my pm to the person who clued me in, I asked if anyone else was asked to apologize for undue pain caused by this joke?

Does anyone else think this joke went to far? or had the potential to go too far?
Is anyone else feel any undue pain because of this "joke" thread?

I think this was an interesting chance to see how we deal with certain situations.

did ^you^ get upset and lash out, did ^you^ feel worried people were talking about you, did ^you^ sit back and think why someone you don't normally deal with, all of a sudden start talking about you, did ^you^ handle it well?

for the people who are upset, are they angry at the person who pulled the joke, or are they angry at themselves, for how they reacted?

I'm having enough diving confidence problems without you people making me all stressed out.

Ooh; my head hurts. The waters cold and my regulator's busted and I lost some precious air and I borrowed a spare that doesn't breathe right and it's really pretty cold and I have some new gear and bouyancy issues and I'm worried about what they think of me on scubaboard and those "H"'s cost at least $2 a piece. And the april fools day gags upset me.
