This past 4/1 the mods decided to allow certain controls to be turned of to help play a joke on the rest of us. (I am pointing directly at the
"Pssst...lets talk about them while they are not here" thread in Humor forum)
In a pm to me I was accusesed of personally attacking someone.

I fell for the joke and unintentionally caused someone else some pain.
For causing someone else pain I am truelly sorry.

In my pm to the person who clued me in, I asked if anyone else was asked to apologize for undue pain caused by this joke?

Does anyone else think this joke went to far? or had the potential to go too far?
Is anyone else feel any undue pain because of this "joke" thread?

AK Susan:
Thats okay DB, as least I was able to provide some entertainment to someone else and hopefully made them smile at least. you know what they say about experience its best learned by someone else!
You were certainly far from the worse, Susan. I had some pretty upset PMs roll in on me...

Sorry it was uncomfortable, hope you're laughing with us now.

How did I spoil it? I didn't post on any ^you^ threads (as they were obvious to me - thank you very much) - just threads about April Fools going too far. Perhaps you shouldn't insult me about not having a sense of humor when you clearly know nothing about me. I didn't personally attack you simply stated my feeling in a thread ABOUT April Fools going too far - far more than I care say for ^you^.
Yo. You might want to go back and read my post. Not once did I say that YOU (or should I say ^you^ :D) don't have a sense of humor. It was a blanket comment on people in general. Now, if you choose to take it personally, that's your choice. But I did not say it was about you. However, if the shoe fits...

As for my comment about your spoiling it, I daresay that coming in here and calling something that we openly enjoyed "childish and boring" is rather a spoiler. Just try for a moment to put yourself on the other side -- lets say you say to someone, "Oh I just LOVE playing this computer game, I find it to be SO much fun" and the other person says "well, I find it childish and boring". Get the picture? (Or not?) There are certainly more diplomatic ways of stating your opinion than to do so in such a manner as to come across as insulting to others. But you chose to say it the way you did. Hey, that's your opinion. But ya can't blame some of us for then getting a certain...um...impression about you.

Lighten up, man! Life is good! Maybe you need to get underwater? I know I do...it's been too long since my last dive. I'm starting to get twitchy.

How about this?

>All I'm saying is April Fool's Day is fun for little kids. Once you've grown up, there are lots of playful things that are much more fun. I don't see the need to indugle in infantile behavior.

:mooner:

Regardless, some are not going to like the joke (there are always the ones who don't like anything and need to loosen up:pity_part ). The majority from what I observed had a good time and a sense of humor. Life is too short to take things so seriously besides, it's only a computer....

We always make decisions at work that the majority will like. Already knowing and taking into account that a "select few" will not enjoy the function etc. If we made decisions on the "select few" nothing would be done and life would be boring.:shakehead One could say that the moonie smiley in your post is infantile as well...

Nobody was forcing you to read the joke threads... You might find being "childish"...

You quoted me but some how weren't referring to me specifically. Now that I find funny.

Wow, I'm the one who spoils it and is a snob in a thread about it going too far. I stayed out of the ^you^ threads yesterday and was simply stating my opinion in a thread specifically about not liking the April Fools threads, yet someone even suggests I leave ScubaBoard totally. That I find funny. How dare you not find something funny that I find funny, please leave this scuba forum immediately.
Really, dude, lighten up, you're going to pop a cork! Go to a comedy show, read a joke book...do SOMETHING to bring out a smile. I hate to see someone getting so uptight about a little bit of fun.

As for not seeing a "need to indulge in infantile behavior"...then don't. We'll just enjoy ourselves in our own little infantile world. While we laugh ourselves silly.

By the way, did you know that there are numerous health benefits to laughter? Laughter activates the immune system, decreases stress hormones, is great cardiac exercise, and (best of all for divers) enhances the respiratory system: Frequent belly laughter empties your lungs of more air than it takes in resulting in a cleansing effect - similar to deep breathing.

So....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!:rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

Well, I'm a writer. So that happens to be my area of expertise, whereas computer programming is yours. That's why I am saying that, while you chose to believe I was referring specifically to you, my comments about being humorless were carefully crafted to refer to, well, anyone. Just FTR, here's what I said: "Then again, some people just don't like laughing. That's a shame for them. Me, I enjoy a good belly-laugh...as well as giggling, chortling, cackling, guffawing, and all the other permutations of humorous expression."

But like I said, if the shoe fits...

Meanwhile, I'm just so GLAD that you found something funny! Yay! Glad I could help. :blinking:

I want to stop reading this thread, but I can't. Please help me, no more posts, please.
