My friends were talking about just adding the harness instead of going the WTX, but I wanted the quick releases, etc... I may eventually go to the harness but I knew that I wanted to start with the WTX.

I'm not DIR so I don't mind the parts that are plastic.

I also travel a lot (wish I travelled more) so I wanted to be able to take the WTX harness with me and leave the SS backplate at home.

Fishman: I special ordered my through Sport Chalet, Mission Viejo (work there). It is a medium. If that is one of the sizes you were considering let me know and I can arrange to have it there so you can check it out.

jjwdiver:
MSRP sticker prices put the Apeks about $150 more than Halcyon once you add all the extras to make them have the exact same setup (Halcyon mc pack, STA, argon straps added to Apeks) US prices, could be different where you are at.

Dunno... The Eclipse is on sale here now for 470 USD (ex salestax), complete MC system with STA and all. I'm sure the Apeks is much higher priced, sinced they are sold in different stores (with higher prices in general) than where the "DIR" equipment is sold.
