DandyDon:
Several of us are flying Delta in, one flying Continental, to meet there. I called the airlines, but their info didn't make sense, and one of them admited that they map she had available was screwy. I think I found the same map on the net, and I did get that one cannot go directly from one baggage claim area to the other one.

Can someone give me basic info on what parts we'll arrive on the 2 airlines, which baggage claims we'll use, and where would be a good meeting area....?

thanks, don

Yep, Continental was in one area, and Delta the other. When I turned my cell-phone on, I had a message from my sis that she was there and the time the message came in, so - I sent my son-in-law down the escalator to Cont luggage: "Find her and bring her over to our side with luggage, or - come over if you can't." Smooth enough; we were all soon in the car rental area, and not too long later up the toll-road.

I was planning on heading to Crystal River after getting my certification finished. Is Tampa the best way to get there? I found tickets on cheaptickets.com for 83 bucks from here in NC, but I wasn't sure if there was another major airport closer.

Yes sir, fly into TPA, grab your prearranged cheap car, and head up the toll-road. Have $20-30 in ones handy, and they have a lot of toll-booths, but it's worth it. We used Birds Underwater for our snorkeling, and I'd use them for Scuba, too - from what I saw. Good outfit.
