Has anyone ever been to the Boston Scuba Show? It is coming up in Feb. and just wanted some reviews.

Thanks,

Ben
I go every year. It is a fun day. It's a full day of talks and slide presentations.
Fred Calhoun does his history of dive equipment every year, which is always entertaining if you have not seen it before. My good friend Dave Clancy will be giving a talk on the USS Monitor.

What else do they offer?? will there be gear at this show?? or is it just a slide show??

resurrecting this thread, since this year's web page is as information free as last years. Is there any schedule that says what time the various presentations actually are, or do they just make it up as they go along?

In all the years I hav ebeen going there has never been an actual schedule.
It usually starts with Fred's presentation on dive gear and his thoughts on it.
That goes for about an hour. Just my opinion but if you have seen that part before you can probably skip it the second time around.

I've gone for a couple years; It's a pretty small show but worth it to hear Fred's talk if you've never heard it before. He's a very interesting character and I do mean that in a good way. He has lots of local diving experience and he's not afraid to tell you what he thinks of a lot of the new recent fads in scuba.

There was a small wreck exhibit last year with a bunch of portholes, pottery and silverware found.

A bunch of local dive clubs and dive charters had booths last year. Good to ask them questions if you're not involved with any dive clubs or interested in going on any charters.

There was a raffle last year that had some good prizes that could be won. Overall, it's a good event to walk around and talk and meet with some people but it's pretty small.
