I'm in Mass. now, but will be in T & C this weekend.

I really wish I could join you. I've always want to dive Mass.

I'll be up at the event on Saturday volunteering with Boston Scuba. DUI Dog Days is always a great event. Even if you already own a drysuit, it's nice to meet other divers or try on different models of DUI drysuits to see what you like.

Nice to hear someone's participated before! I don't own a drysuit, so I thought the event would be a great introduction.
I was hoping someone would speak up from the Worcester area though, as I'm looking for a ride...
Ideas?

DUI makes excellent drysuits. The DUI dog days are a great way to Get Wet, but stay Dry!

My first time hearing about it. I am interested and may go since I have been interested in looking into purchasing a drysuit. It would be great to demo some before the big plunge. Any other confirmed SB members going?

There will be lots of local dive shops (DUI dealers) and lots of dive club members there. I'm sure there will be other scubaboard members as well.

What clothing should I wear for trying out a drysuit? does anyone have a particular style or type of clothing that works better than other stuff?

They will set you up with the thermal undergarments of your choice from their line. That being said it would be good to wear a nice base layer for wicking purposes. Otherwise trunks for modesty will be appreciated.

This is a very well run event. You will be personally assisted every step of the way. If you want you can make multiple dives with the same or alternate items. It's the ultimate test d(r)ive for this sort of equipment. They even have extra fins in case your stuff won't fit over drysuit boots.

No need for prior drysuit experieince either. They will have instuctors leading the dives and teaching you the essentials. My wife made her first ever dry dive there and survived just fine.

If you have any interest whatsoever this is a must do event.

It is a great event for trying new gear...very well-organized. I was there 2 years ago to try some new undergarments using my existing drysuit. Diving at Stage Fort is shallow and low key. If you don't have a buddy they will help pair you up with someone. If you've never used a drysuit before they will give you more TLC to help you with donning and will then have someone with you in the water to help learn how to use it. Not a formal class, but at least giving pointers to ensure a safe demo dive. Lots of friendly folks, food, etc.
