If you are still feeling the congestion in your chest, have you tried:
"What is NAC?
NAC, short for N-acetyl cysteine, is widely available as a supplement but also as a prescription medication. It is an amino acid precursor to an important antioxidant in the body called glutathione.
NAC is not an essential nutrient, but rather is the supplement form of the non-essential amino acid cysteine that plays a role in making protein and other metabolic functions in the body. Non-essential amino acids mean that our bodies can produce them, even if we don't get them from food."
I haven't ever tried the above myself but have seen it recommended by a respected naturopathic physician.
I once suffered an illness similar to yours and couldn't shake it for months. Eventually, at my wit's end, I wandered into a healthfood place and explained my situation. In that case I was recommended "Cold FX" which was relatively new product at the time. It's an immune system booster, made from ginseng.
I'll never know if the Cold FX actually worked or not, placebo effect or not, but after quite literally months of suffering, I was completely well within a week. Could have been coinicidence I suppose. Regardless, I was grateful for it.
