Hello fellow SoCal SB'ers!
My usual dive buddy (husband Charlie) is going to be away the weekend of May 19/20 on a sailboat race, so I'm looking to get in some diving. I've signed up to go out on Spectre on Sunday, May 20 for a trip to Gull Island. It's a bit of a long haul - if you haven't been to Gull Island yet (and I haven't!) it's out past Santa Cruz, and it's a place I've been dying to dive for some time now. We actually planned on taking our own boat there when we spent a weekend on Santa Cruz over Christmas, but the conditions just didn't permit it so we missed out.
Anyway, it's a charter through Eco Dive Center, here's their schedule: Eco Dive Trip Schedule I spoke to them yesterday and they still have plenty of room. The boat departs at 5am, so board the night before. Bunks assigned by Eco Dive.
I'm taking the plunge and going alone, which I'm usually loathe to do as I dislike insta-buddying on a boat. But if any of my fellow SB'ers want to join me, maybe I can buddy up with someone I know? :blinking:
I'm also considering going out with them to Anacapa on Saturday, and then just staying on board. If I can find someone to watch my dog for Saturday I'll probably do that. Saturday is (I think) not a charter, just an open boat. So if someone wants to go on that day as well (or instead!) let me know.
