What I don't like about guided dives is the need to leave interesting spots. What I might find interesting or scenic is not what a guide may find. And all this need to continue to move, or you'll lose the group, has always been unpleasant.

In a way it is better than a buddy system, you don't have to care to watch anyone, it is the DM's duty. Ok, call me lazy.

Yet frankly this mob rushing to see some poor creature then totally "dusting" the spot.. After a while I just stopped going there where DM had pointed as a point of interest. Too many people competing, pushing their cameras in. It is like what movies in the 80's portrayed Japanese tourists. Crowds, everyone with a camera, agility to run to get the closest.. It is such a drag. Now that I am a local, I have this mentality that I can always see it a bit later, no need to see maximum in one dive.

Well, then I don't like to listen to DMs too. I hope I have enough of knowledge and self control not to make the obvious mistakes. Guided dives remind me of kindergarten walks. Hold the hands, kids. Can kids be adults already?

And, you know, some DMs suck. They get a taste for commanding people and then they start to bend their authority. Have you seen such DMs?
