Any good diving near San Jose Costa Rica?

I'm going to San Jose, Costa Rica this fall and will have a few days to go diving, I know that Guanacaste is the best, but any advice on locations and operations that are closer. The 24 hr off gas between the last dive and the flight from Guanacaste to San Jose would make that trip a bit too long.

Nope..nothing closer. Guanacaste is it!

I just got back a couple days ago from costa rica, I did a 1-tank dive out of Paquera (3 hours from san jose) that was pretty good, in the Isla Tortuga area. I did a few snorkels that were good also. Of course, "good" is all relative, I'm not sure what you are looking for. If you have more specific questions you can ask me.

There is also costa rica adventure divers, out of quepos (2 hours from san jose).
