You might also look at Steven's Pass http://www.stevenspass.com/. This is my favorite local place to ride (especially the backside) and doesn't seem to get quite as crowded as Crystal. There are some pretty cool cabins you can rent around the area (if you don't mind cooking your own food) or you can stay in Leavenworth which is about 45 minutes away. It is a cool little Bavarian town with tons of shops, restaurants, and character!!

Agree, Crystal is a nice mountain but the snow is better (in general) away from the coast. Now Whistler - there's a mountain worth skiing.
I'd return to the Bird (Snowbird, Utah) in a heartbeat. Loads of choices tho, Alta's the best deal going for the skiing.

Looking for cheaper? Check out Targgee WY, no crowds and I had a blast, very fun mountain. Montana, Idaho - they've got some great mountains, and pretty good snow usually without the hype of the major names.

And if you're going to ski, what else do you need to do but drink a few beers in the evening and begin again.

Tip: Be the first one on the chair in the am and enjoy it before everyone else trashes it (sure miss those fresh corduroy screamers.)

Have fun, and carve one for me :coffee: .
