Another fire on a Red Sea LOB

In case people haven't seen the thread in the "Accidents and Incidents" forum, the "Scuba Scene" Red Sea Liveaboard caught fire a few days ago. Despite initial confusing reports, it appears all passengers and crew were safely evacuated. Apparently the Scuba Scene was the boat that initially replaced the Red Sea Aggressor 1 after it burned and sank in 2019. ("Replaced" as in, divers booked for trips on the RSA1 were rebooked onto the Scuba Scene.)

I had a group full-boat trip booked on the RSA, it burned and sank, and the way they handled that event caused me to refuse to be rebooked and to request all my money back, which I got. I will never book a group on an Aggressor Fleet boat again.

I was going to book the Aggressor III last year, and I asked them about the fire on the first ship. I figure it’s not operated by the same people, but still, I found their response lacking and decide to go somewhere else.

Scuba Scene was not operated by the Aggressor fleet for anyone confused. It was an All-Star Liveaboards vessel. I was booked to go on it in September of this year. They are promising to put us on a boat "of equal or greater luxury" for our scheduled trip according to my latest conversation with them after this incident.

I spent 2 wks on the RSA I in 2016. It seemed like a good boat with a good crew. I don't think we ever heard what happened in 2019. I sure pay a lot more attention to safety since the Conception and the RSA I

There are so many LOBs and cruises that you could LOBs every year and the odds are highly against you ever experiencing even a minor fire. Still, all of the LOB fires I know about, except Conception, have been in the Red Sea. Too many to be coincidence. That is a horrible and unacceptable way to lose your life. I will pay the premium rate to get a cabin on main deck if not top deck.

Haven't been told what the replacement is yet. I'll definitely be looking at the layout when I find out though.

Are the RSA2 and RSA3 owned by the same person / people who owned the RSA1?

The ship had no working smoke detectors, the daily management was from the same manager who worked for Aggressor when their boot caught fire and sank. I would thihk twice beforebookinganother shipped managed and sold by the same group
