That was a Mustang I took out? I just knew it was a black Ford something. Ford must have had a bad time designing their Mustangs back in the early to mid 90's. Chintziest looking Mustang I ever saw.

Ken
Yep it was a Mustang, had the performance tires on the back too. I peeked at the tread and it was good but all those tires need is someone to spit on the road and they lose traction. One time I had the back end come out from under Bruce's Camaro as I pulled away from a stop sign on damp pavement and I wasn't goosing it either.

Hate to say it but that was one of the better looking Mustangs at the time :06:

I'm glad I got to meet you guys and look forward to diving with you in the future. Hopefully not wreck diving from the fishing boat though... that sounded like an extreme sport getting back in the boat from what Ken told me

The boat is very sound and if you run into bad weather on the lakes its the boat you want to be in. Diving from it, well that's another story :D Any wave action at all and you're going to have to hope the swim platform doesn't kill you while your gear is being hooked to the winch. I wear that weight harness so I have to shed my gear and somehow get out of the harness before I hit the bottom of the lake :14:

Your welcome to come along on the Tobermory trip, that boat has a platform in the back that raises and lowers so entry/exit is super easy!

Ken,

Sorry about the close call. Glad you and Ber are ok. I hope your insurance will repair your car so you're not the loser in this accident, and hope they stick it to the DUI Mustang driver.

Weird Ber...I had been thinking that might be a bit hard to do wearing a weight belt and that it would be much easier with integrated. I remember your harness and all the weight for your drysuit. You must have a real strong kick!!!!

It's not hard with a weight belt because you just take the belt off and hand it up. My harness can't be taken off with the gear on and since the straps are under the bc straps there's no way to hook it to the winch when you hook up the bc. Bruce and I ended up boosting ourselves onto the swim platform with all our gear on. I'm horrible at timing the waves so he was boosting himself gracefully to a sitting position; I was floundering on my tummy while the captain dragged me onto the platform by my tank. The last dive I finally got the timing down and did a good job boosting myself up so when the captain pulled on my tank he accidentally rammed my head into the transom--that was pretty funny :11:

I'll get that Tobermory info to you asap!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That had to be a sight:D That reminds me of dolphins at Sea World, they don't crash into the walls though...just kidding!!! Hey I'm none to graceful myself that's one reason I like my integrated BC. (I'm afraid I will drop my weights.) Thanks for the information you sent about Tobermory!

13 May, went diving with Ber and her AOW class up at White Star. I always enjoy going along for the U/W Nav dives.Again, I have to thank Ber for taking the time to stay there and make sure I was OK, and that my car was driveable. It's good to have friends like that!

There, that make up for being slow getting the trip report posted?

Ken

And the rest of the story -- Got my car back, 2,400 in repairs on a car with a blue book of 2300 to 2500. Insurance company is tracking the other guy down, seems like he may have fibbed a bit on his insurance company. Or on whether or not he even has insurance. Oh well, he has been cited for loss of control, DUI, and driving without insurance.

But, the good news is, I got my car back.

Glad to hear that they repaired your car. The other guy sounds like he is real trouble to me and that he earned it.
