THE GREAT THING HERE IS YOU DON'T HAVE TO TOUCH YOUR LUGGAGE ONCE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME DESTINATION....

Dear Tourism Partner,

Effective November 10, 2009, a Ticketing and Baggage Agreement was signed between US Airways and Insel Air, so that they are able to issue tickets on one another and allowing customers to create connections (i.e. CLT-MIA-BON) and through-check their bags between carriers.

An additional component of interline relationships between carriers is the ability to through-check the connecting passenger (not just bags), allowing issuance of boarding passes between carriers. US Airways currently lacks passenger through check with Insel Air, but it is a near term mutual objective.

In summary, today bags can be checked through, while customers still need to check-in with the connecting carrier for their onwards boarding passes when transiting between US Airways and Insel Air.

Should any of the tour operators or hotels want to take advantage of this convenience offered by this agreement, below are the US Airways feeder cities to Miami and Aruba that connect on Insel Air’s flights to BON. All of these flights are valid for winter flying. (Please note, however, that in April, US Air will cease all Caribbean flying out of Boston).

The agreement between US Air and Insel Air does not yet include a through fare agreement, thus passengers using these connections will be ticketed on two point-to-point tickets.

We congratulate both carriers and applaud the development of this partnership and look forward to the completion of more elements of the overall interline agreement.

Regards,

Ronella Tjin-Asjoe Croes

Instead of posting ALL THE FLIGHTS from US Airways that connect with the Insel Air Flight through Miami, I will list the cities:

Philadelphia, Charlotte, NC, New York (JFK), Boston and Dallas.

YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO BOOK USAIRWAYS VIA ARUBA AND CONNECT WITH INSEL TO BONAIRE AND NOT TOUCH YOUR BAGS!

The cities to Aruba via USAirways:

US Airways flights to Aruba

from PHL, CLT & BOS with the connecting Insel Air schedule via CUR.

YEAH! Maybe I will be able to use some of those FF miles that just keep adding up...but probably not knowing US(eless)Air...

Ok, just realized that YOU CAN GET TO BONAIRE DAILY through Aruba using US Airways/Insel. You cannot book in US Airways site yet, but I have posed this question to the local tourism board as to when we can expect this.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but the tourism board did tell me that Insel and USAirways are working on getting it together so you can book directly from either US Airways or Insel sites. No timeframe as to when it is going to be complete, but it is a good thing whenever we get better air service from the US!

Herman,

Exactly! We have taken USAir from Charlotte to Aruba. I just checked pricing for 13-20 for January. The flight times are good for example:

Charlotte to Aruba 1..31 am arrive 4.29 pm
Aruba to Bonaire (via Curacao) depart 6.10 pm pm arrive Bonaire 8.46 pm8.05 pm

on the return

Bon-Aruba 10..15 am get into aruba at 1.10 pm
Aruba-Charlotte, depart 5.35 pm arrive charlotte 8.46 pm

Pricing was $687.60 RT....thats good and you don't have to touch your bags!

So that is the midweek Wed-Wed....

Not bad
