I was looking to add a URPro CY filter after reading all of the posts and watching the videos on this board for my GPHero2. Unfortunately, SRP is currently out of stock. I've only got a couple weeks before my trip, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend other filters that would fit the BlurFix and obtain similar results to the URPro CY.

Cheers

I'm located in New York. I bought my camera from AquaProHD, but they too were out of the URPro CY filters

Thank you for the response. I just want to make sure; I need a 55mm filter to fit the BlurFix correct?

I don't own a GoPro so no idea. ronscuba likely does...

The filters sold by SRP are not the stock UR Filters, the ones sold by SRP have some of the threads machined off so there's less or no vignetting. The stock URPro filters will work as well as any other 55mm filter, just be aware of this little gotcha!

Greg, sent you a PM

I think my opinion on filters with the GoPro will just complicate things for him.

Here is a quote from Drew on Wetpixel. Not necessarily applicable towards this thread, but I agree with it in general.

"Some people want someone else to make the choice for them so they can blame that someone if it's the wrong choice. I prefer educating people to make their own decisions based on their needs, so they can't blame anyone but themselves if they are unhappy with their decision."

Drew is an expert. I'm just a loud opinionated New Yorker. So I don't really educate. I just offer my opinion.

A filter option you can try while you wait for a URPro filter to restock, is an inexpensive drop in filter. Mako sells one for $2. I believe Pursuit sells one too. You can buy a large 24" filter sheet for $7 and cut your own too. This can be a good option as a 24" sheet can make a lot of filters.
