Just a thought here. Instead of paying mad prices for Pelican, Otter, ect. think about going to an Army Surplus store (or local military base) and pick up a couple of ammo cans. Or you could order your ammunition online in bulk and get them for free. Regardless of how you get one, they're cheap, they're metal, come in several different sizes, and are waterproof and air tight. Get yourself some foam and *presto*. Works for me.

Also try Military First Aid Kits. Aluminum and about 1/4 the size of a shoe box.

the only problem that i see is if you are seen by someone who reconizes the ammo cans, that could be quite a situation:D :D :D
think police, swat, ect...:boom:

Good Point Fly N Dive, I forgot to mention that you'll probably want to paint over the lot numbers on the side of the cans. Then again, you may want to bring some ammo on your next dive for one reason or another, I won't judge.

It is actually a Misdemeanor to take any Military Ammo Canisters off of a Military Federal Institution. Be SURE to paint over any marks as you can get in trouble. Chances of it happening are slim to none, but I have seen it happen. When I was Diving with the Marines we used to laugh at the guys with the ammo cans. Sooner or later they forget a wet clothing article in the can, sealed up it won't evaporate...just mold...then rust. Funny.
