Don't scrap your PT-010 housing because your zoom control spring breaks. The removal of the broken spring will leave a gap that causes the zoom/shutter asssembly to wobble thereby increasing the risk of a leak from that O-ring. There is no source for replacement springs that I am aware of. I have come up with a fairly simple repair that will allow you to continue to safely use your housing.

Way cool Jim. I have put that one in my PT-010 stuff for future reference. I am sure it will eventually need to be repaired.

Thanks Jim - This is great information. We rent these housings & cameras and I've wondered what to do if a spring breaks. Your website is a great source of information.
