I had an old Seatec jacket style BC that just sat gathering dust. I decided to make a wing out of it. I cut the front parts of the jacket off, and tucked the bladder into the back. It works fine, and I plan on either sewing a zipper to the top for closing it, or putting in some buttons.
My question is, could I cut the front parts of the bladder off to make more room for the back section to expand? I was thinking of sealing the cut with Aquaseal, and reinforcing it with a sewn edge to prevent as much pressure from being applied to the seal. I've never used Aquaseal or repaired a large hole in a bladder, so I am fishing for experience from someone who has.
And before someone asks, I did it because I wanted a small wing, and the Seatec was effectively useless as a jacket(too small). A small wing like that works great for the single tank backpack setup I use.
