I liked my 40# wing as a new diver in coldwater/drysuit. It let me do some fantastic weighting screw ups while i was learning and not drown.

Agree with all the others, a SS 6# plate is pretty versatile and while its heavier than a travel plate it beats the cost of sinking coin into a travel plate that you rarely use...unless you travel to Belize on a regular basis."I may go to doubles, may not, maybe a pony bottle, may take it on vacation to Belize... You get the idea..."
