AL80 Stage Rigging

I put one of mine over the fuel hose (which is actually pretty important underwater, btw. Gives you something to handle the tank with), and the other is under the lower strap flush on the tank. They don't come off the tank unless I want them to, and I do a LOT of stage switching in my diving. Having one rubberband over the rigging makes restowing the hose a lot quicker. Mine are also about half the width of yours, which makes stowing the reg easier.

I still use the tubing. It makes it easier to pull up the rope, so I can stuff the tail bolt snap under it. I do this when I want to shorten the tail to make a bundle out of a couple of stages.

I agreed with that in cold water diving, but in warm water with no gloves, I found the rope itself was easy enough to find/hold/etc. If it does nothing, I leave it home.

As far as the bands, go the bottom one is not going anywhere, but the upper hand can work it's way off the shoulder. If the bands are overly tight, putting them over the rope helps you get under them to re-stow a hose - but if it isn't excessively tight, it's not needed.

It also matters whether you're using a smaller cord like 550 cord or gold line versus 1/4" nylon rope. With 1/4 nylon getting your fingers under the rope is not a problem.

I have 3 tanks and I'm trying to come up with the best strategy that will extend my air supply and give me redundancy.
