Personally, I prefer a properly tuned non-adjustable regulator. User adjustability (like "overbalanced")is more of a marketing advantage than a real world advantage.

I have the LX.

I haven't had to mess with the knobs on either regs at all.

worked great down to 105 fsw on a couple dives.

the acd is important to me since it allows me to remove my reg while still in the boat. on some small boats we use here, there is a tendency for the reg to get a little scratched etc so i remove it from the tanks when not in use. my other buddies aer reluctant to do this for fear that water might get in too the first stage.

I just bought an aqualung legend lx and am very happy with it. It breathed well at the quarry on whatever setting. I played with the adjustable inhalation feature and honestly I couldn't tell the difference no matter what setting I had it at. The main pro I heard for it (as I think has been mentioned) is as the year goes on you can play with the knob until its time to get it servced, making it perform better then.

For me, I could see myself regretting not having it for whatever reason, but probably won't care long term that I spent an extra $100 on it.

Thanks. I went with Legend LX too - same reason. What octopus did you go with?

I can't remember what the model number is, but I bought the matching octo for the LX (it has nearly identical adjustments, just a teeny bit smaller and yellow accents)

i got mine 2nd hand with a legend octo and an spg. i must say that legend octo breathes like a priimary and it does have the venturi adjustment to prevent freeflows.

if you can afford it, get the legend octo. perfect compliment to the lx
