Hi...I need suggestions for keeping my air tank stable in my car's trunk. I have tried placing my weights next to the tank when tank is pretty secure next to the trunk's edge.

But it always ends up rolling. Any ideas? Are there products sold to secure tanks?

Thanks in advance!

pool noodles and rope, dive bags, wooden chocks, weight belts with weights strapped to tanks, tie offs in the trunk.
and a gentle cornering as that throws things around you dont want a tank coming at you :)

There are products sold to hold your tank(s). Try looking at www.scubatoys.com
Also if you are the handy man type take a look in the DIY section here on scubaboard. One guy made a really nice tank holder for use in the back of his truck.

Look at this thread http://www.scubaboard.com/t90599-tank-rack.html

Just put your BC on you tank, put your spare tank against the wall of your trunk, then your tank with the BC, then your weight belt. thats what I do in the back of my truck but I'm sure it would work in a trunk. And I always put the tank valve to the front so if something happend it would rocket away from me!!

I made my own using two short lengths of 35mm plastic conduit (about 41mm / 1-3/4" OD), wrapped with some gridded rubber matting that is designed to go under throw rugs to keep them in place. Drill a couple holes in each pipe, tie them together with some cord. Adjust the cord length so the tank is supported between the two pipes. Just add another pipe in parallel for each addtional tank.

There is a similar commercial product that I would have bought, but none of the local shops had it.

I put my tank in the footwell in the back seats. I find that this works quite well.

Do you remember Newton's third law? Specifically the "equal and opposite reaction" bit? :D
