All I can tell you is it's nice to know exactly where your stuff is when the airline is claiming they don't know. They aren't foolproof but you can't rely on airline bag tracking apps at all.

My husband and I were waiting to board a flight and realized that our bags weren't on the plane after checking the airline app. Because our layover was longer than 8 hours, they didn't put them on the plane-- we were supposed to recheck them. We hurried over to the desk, and the airline employee called down to baggage and had them rushed to the plane. They were put on with about 15 minutes to spare.This kind of leads to my question. Has anyone had an experience of knowing before takeoff that your bags weren’t in the plane, and were you able to take some type of action before the plane left?
