I'm going to the Solomon Islands in November. :D I'm going to be spending time in Australia/NZ both before and after the diving in Solomons. I've got my flights to/from Sydney sorted out.

However, I need to book tickets to the Solomons. I know that Pacific Blue has direct flights from Brisbane to Honiara. I'm afraid of being over their 20kg limit. They've told me its AU$10 per kilo which I can deal with as I'll probably be just a bit over. However, my concern is they do not have to carry the overweight bag on the same flight (even though you've paid). :shakehead: It will depend on the amount of baggage and cargo they have on the flight.

I'm getting on a liveaboard the same day so will need my things. They only have a couple flights a week so there is no margin for error.

Anyone had any experience on Pacific Blue with heavy diving equipment?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry cant help with this one, all I can suggest is pack your essentials ie dive gear and a few clothes toiletries in one bag and other stuff in an expendable bag just in case.

You dont really need a lot of clothes on a dive trip, especially a liveaboard :D
