If you only use 2 stages, L&R is simple & efficient - you can kit up by yourself easily, it reduces unclipping & reclipping during the dive

If you only have two bottles, why are you unclipping them during the dive at all (cave drops notwithstanding)?

If you only use 2 stages, L&R is simple & efficient - you can kit up by yourself easily, it reduces unclipping & reclipping during the dive & it practically eliminates the possibility of mixing up regs. If you use AL40s then deploying the long hose is no harder than with a can light

I don't care how people decide to arrange their stages. But if I'm only using 2, & they're on the left side, why would I be un/re-clipping them during a dive. Or have I misunderstood, & I'm un/re-clipping, something else.
