Hello people!!
I'm looking forward changing my old 1st and 2nd stage, which are both scubapro (MK-17 and S555, respectively).
As I like scubapro gear, I'm looking forward to buy this kit:

MK25 HIGH POLISHED/A700 - SCUBAPRO-UWATEC

which is the MK-25 and a700.

I would like to know what are your experiences, and maybe you can recommend something else.

Thanks!!!

Those appear to be very good regs. The MK25 first stage is a champ. I've never used the a700 second stage though. Having used other SP equip, I'd say go for it if you like SP and don't mind paying for such an expensive set. Take care of it and it should last a very long time.

What's wrong with the MK17? I understand wanting to go from the S555 to the A700, but I don't understand the benefit of going to a MK25. You won't notice any difference in breathing. Or do you just want an extra reg set?

How much do you want for you mk17?

If your diving cold waters you would want to stay with the MK17. I own both 1st stages and there is almost no difference in breathing/performance. I like the sealed MK17 over the 25. As for 2nd stages the A700 is a great reg, Personally not my style but it works well. I dive the G250V which I liked better. That or my Atomic M1 set.

I have a Mk25 & prefer the hose routing options over the 17, assuming cold water isn't an issue. I prefer to use a 5' hose routed under my right arm for my primary with a bungeed octo on a short hose over my right shoulder.

For the 2nd I use G250V's.

I doubt you will be able to tell much of a breathing difference between a properly serviced MK17/S555 and the the MK25/A700...

So, basically, unless you just have the money burning a hole in your pocket, save it, service the reg, and spend it on something else, or a dive trip...

Exactly.
I've just progressed to a Mk20 D400.
And a few other regs
of similar age.
