For anyone here that has or in the future intends to book the Aura it has admitted that it will be a clothing optional resort in some areas, so depending on just how well they can control their guests it may very well spill out onto the beach.

Considering that the Aura is situated between the original Reef Club sector of the Wyndham & the Reef Residencias many families may need to have blinders for their kids.

Lifestyles Resorts

According to the Lifestyles web site Sabor is also one of there resorts!

Hopefully in a day or 2 we will have some idea of what they actually mean with their lifestyles terminology. I have wrote directly to Wyndham corporate offices to see if they can or will explain. Otherwise I foresee a lot of flak re the entire Wyndham resort complex. I have also contacted Tripadvisor & suggested they investigate since their own listing doesn't hint that the Aura is anything less than a luxury resort for adults, or maybe teens too according to one post. (my research says 18 or older is an adult to them).

Time will tell as to what will actually end up becomming policy. I have received an email response from the Aura re one of 2 I had sent to the Wyndham main corporate site, and it's a bit hard to interpret because there is (from the photos I have seen) a beachfront pools.

Please try to book directly with a travel agency, the WEB page is from lifestyles Corp.

We allow european sunbathing at the pool area and clothing optional at the roof top bar.

All I am trying to do is to alert people to the fact that something we had never seen as an acceptable practice at any of the resorts is now allowed at one, and my guess is that the others will follow thinking they need to in order to keep market share. If you and your family is fine with these changes that's fine by me, but in the past you never had to consider the possibility.

This will be my final post here on this topic. This reply was added to the topic at one of the sites I listed it on and it looks like a legitimate response.
Its as simple as this (we are upfront, always): Wyndham was contracted with
before Aura was offered to Lifestyles. Wyndham has been notified that Aura
will be a lifestyle oriented couples only resort as of April 4, but can
continue to take reservations. Once Lifestyles reaches a certain average
occupancy we will make the pool c/o.

When I first stayed at the Presidente in 1993, it was owned and operated by Stouffer Hotels in those days, women routinely sunbathed topless on the beach. There were families everywhere and really, no one was concerned. Now, that is a long ways from total nudity and a different matter entirely imo.

Larry,

I REALLY doubt this is a warranted concern. The people that engage in this lifestyle do not hold a large segment of the market share...so there's really no reason for otherwise successful resorts to follow suit because they're "losing" business to the Aura.

Look at the Riviera maya....it is MUCH more progressive than Cozumel is and it's not overrun with Lifestyle resorts. As far as I know, there is only one over there....so this is not something that needs to be a concern for Cozumel.

Christi, I sure do hope you are right. I got a rather interesting PM from a mutual friend with a nice take on the topic. She suggested that SI's will now be done out front of the Aura and the boat captains will all be buying binoculars.
