Mike,

Here is a southern sound track you may be able to use in the future. It is a classic southern blues rock band from the late 60's early 70's. I heard this song in 1969 and went straight to an music store and bought a recording. There is the mention of "going to Carolina" in the song.

The sweet smooth southern blues slide guitar in the middle is played by a then guitar freak named Duane Allman. His brother Greg Allman married Cher many years after this song was recorded. The young people in the south at that time, especially the "hippies", were crazy over this band. Check it out.

ps: great video. I grew up diving the wrecks offshore NC

WOW I really enjoyed that video.. I've wanted to dive there for over 30 years.

Oh, I really enjoyed the video! I used to love to watch Jason Bone's videos from his dives in NC. It just looks like the profusion of life on those wrecks is amazing.

Great video

Thanks, everybody... so glad that you like it..!

Aha! Blue Sky... and AWESOME song.... will have to go back and dive more to make another video

What was the water temp?

around 70 degrees at depth... I was fairly warm in a 5 mm.

AND, since you all liked the first one, here's something a little different from our sprint over the U-352:

Safe diving, everyone...

Great video, really makes me homesick. Unfortunately work is keeping me from diving down there as much this season, but with luck I'll be going out again in September.

Just as an FYI though, James Taylor is a fellow UNC alum and the song is an unofficial anthem for Carolina, so thanks very much!
;)

I agree. Jason Bone and Bob B. used to put out some very good videos. Jason has dropped out the diving scene to pursue other hobbies. Bob is still diving and accumulating time on his KISS. If the weather cooperates I'l be diving with him in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

The biodiversity and profusion of life on the NC wrecks is astonishing. Tropicals, temperates, and pelagics all meet each other at the oasis. There's something for everyone: naturalists, spear fishers, bug hunters, artifact collectors, and historians. If it weren't for really long boat rides and frequent blow-outs I would never bother diving anywhere else, at least not in the warm months.

Good to know..! I hope that doesn't make it less enjoyable for the Duke people... :)
