All of us on Phuket (which voted with the losing side) just want peace and prosperity. Here's hoping Khun Yingluck grows into her job and is more than just a pretty face.

I am only a casual observer of Thai politics, and my remark was mostly in jest, but I share your sentiments. I am cautiously optimistic that the military will respect the election results. I am hopeful, but not optimistic, that Yingluck turns out to be independent of her brother and a better leader for Thailand. Things would be simplified quite a bit, it seems, if Thaksin remained in Dubai, or wherever he is, but that doesn't seem likely.

Yes quite. Now being back in my native UK for a few weeks, I have to say there is a lot to be said for Thai lady.
And Yingluck Shinawatra is certainly infinitely better looking than David Cameron.
