I hear the diving is awesome off the coast of Somalia.

have you ever been there? or are you just another one of these 'hearsay idiots who goes posting crap on interboards'?

I hear the crime is bad there. They steal your truck at the dive site, and turn it into an extremist car bomb, that is remote control driven as a suicide bomber....

or at least that's what I hear....

Maybe they can impose a 50% tax on the tourists to help pay for more Somalian military.

I totally know what I'm talking about, I have a friend who went and told me it was awesome, lot's of virgin pirate shipwrecks. I also overheard some people talking in a dive shop about it so I'm sure it's great there.

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

A number of flaming posts (and replies) have been removed.

Despite my better judgement I'm going to reopen this thread. Not because I see any value in it now that stand-points have been exchanged, but because it got more than 1000 hits in less than 24 hours.

Evidently people enjoy these threads and I don't see any reason why a moderator should road-block that.

However... listen carefully. Scubaboard intends to be a board where mutual respect is valued and upheld. I'm going to follow this thread from the shadows for a while and any further personal attacks from this point onward will earn you a thread ban.

Have fun

Why can't this happen, and why doesn't the Dutch Gov do something like that?

The Netherlands have announced a plan to get tough on crime. For the first time in their history the Netherlands are sending a militia force to supplement local police in an effort to quell a growing crime problem. Bonaire, a territory in the Lesser Antilles has been faced with a pandemic of rising crime in recent years. A well known source has been quoted that the problem is "widely known throughout the entire Caribbean."There are two principal security agencies, which share responsibility for internal security: The Security Service of the Netherlands, which is responsible for intelligence gathering and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which controls the various police forces.

1,000 hits wasn't for people wanting to see about crime in Bonaire... they were just wanting to watch the trainwreck.... :trainwreck:
