I dive a bungee wing. Clean profile and easy to maneuver. I have my views of some gear choices. I bungee my wing forward from the eye in the wing. I guess I don't like the idea of a floppy wing just to compensate for a bottle on my side. I think it's because that makes no sense to me. Hmmm, anyway.
Be safe everyone.
Enjoy your split fins OP. :-)

They could have saved Grumman Aerospace a ****load of money wasted in wind tunnel time by simply tossing each wing out a second story window and timing which hit the ground first. The results would be at least as accurate.

Is there air or argon in the wings?
...

Well the OP started by taking the square root of blowing smoke up our a$#. so we needed to check his math due to the lack of velocity in his argument.

But I agree I would much rather be diving with people who understand the the bungee is not a deathtrap. Especially when you can swim your rig up without it or you have a redundancy about it.

I don't think they did a "test" -- It sounds to me like some guys had access to a wind tunnel and though this would be fun. Nobody was gathering data. It wasn't science. It was amusement.

Their test was like SB and information :D

Both are damn good entertainment though!

I prefer to dive with people who see bungee wings for what they are.

A piece of ****? :)

One day, Mythbusters might film a Scubaboard 'special' episode....and test some of the theories that currently cause endless debates....

Bungee vs Non-Bungee - Drag
Bungee vs Non-Bungee - Deflation
Split Fins vs Jet Fins - Power
Jacket vs BP&W - Drag
etc etc

Of course...even if they did that.... people would still argue over the results ;)
