Maple Bakehouse was a highlight but only found it on our last full day. Just a few doors away from Al Pie du Carbon. A trendy hip style coffee house with amazing food. We went for breakfast and be warned it's busy but we managed to get a table within 2 minutes. The eggs Benedict were in a parmesan cup and were just sooo good!!!

The baked goods I got to take back to the villa were meh. Zermatt makes a better cinnanmon roll and even that's just ok.
Which Al Pie du Carbon...the one up north or the one south?

Had brunch there today after yoga. Loved the french toast and had a delicious moccachino. Prices really reasonable. We ate outside as there were no available tables inside. Just as well, anyways.

Is Adrian not still the owner? Last time I went there (a couple of years ago) the fare had changed to Italian and Adrian was no longer there managing, but he still owned the place. Too bad; the Indian Shrimp on the old menu was luscious.

Attached is a resturant list that I've plagiarized from a variety of sources.

Yes, Thanks. A suggestion - you need to add Pescaderia San Carlos to your list of small local places.

Sad to say, Playa Bonita on the east side is just about done. Beach erosion has reached the foundation and the building is slowly collapsing into the sea. It used to be a major stop for us on our annual trek around the island, but last May we went in and left almost immediately. I remember it from the days when it was the Naked Turtle and the water was across 50 feet or more of beach from the pavillion, but conditions have changed dramatically since then.
