Dove the 853 for the first time today. what a great dive. Vis was great on the out side of the wreck and even better inside. I was very surprised that the inside still looks the same as some of the old footage ive seen on Bill Pamers videos. Bottom time was 30 minutes max depth of 125. My best dive to date. Ill be making a trip back soon.

What time were you there. We were on it in my boat at 10:00 yesterday morning. I did a little photography insid ethe control room.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather holds. I am supposed to go out to the U-853 on Wednesday!

You should be fine. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful week. There was a decent swell out there yesterday, but there was no current. I thought the vis was a little low
but it was as enjoyable as always. This is the year that I have hung up my trusty old
Nikonos V and gone digital. What a difference!

This was my deco profile

125 ft back gas nitrox 28 30 min
stop 40ft nitrox 28 .10 min
stop 30ft nitrox 28 3 min
stop 20ft oxygen 3 min
stop 10ft oxygen 5 min

If riwreck did 30 minutes on air he would have had to hang for 37 minutes.

Hey sean22 we got there around lunch time. we were the only ones there. I saw that you posted the vis was pretty poor in the morning. That was pretty good vis for what im use to. Id love to see it when its even better.

We must have just left when you got there. One of my friends was feeling a little "Green around the Gills" so we opted to head back to Jamestown after the first dive. On my way in, we made a pass over a target that I saw on my plotter off of point Judith... something to check out on another day!
