The first page on air or EAN32 to 100ft is jibberish, but the 150ft 21/35 stuff and beyond seemed as straight forward to me as it could get, but I do admit to putting on the X-shorts and tin-foil hat prior to reading it.
It must of been the x-shorts. Cuz I had my tinfoil hat on and it didn't help.

Even already having a basic understanding of the concept (that was taught to to me by A.G.).
When I read the PDF this was my initial reaction also.
JeffG:
Well, the first time I read it, I went "W T F is he talking about", its not an easy read. LOL

JeffG:
Oh you didn't sound like a censor, but the same thing could be said about the deco software. There is nothing special about Ratio Deco.
I agree nothing special about ratio deco.
But it does require a liitle more knowledge of deep stops, the o2 window, and shaping an s curve than just punching in dive parameters and spitting out tables.
Wouldn't you say?

JeffG:
Yes. Personally, I would steal some time from the middle part 60 and 50 and move it down to the 40 and 30 time slots. But that's just me.

Do you count the travel time between stops as part of your deco stop or just from the point where you make your stop until you start traveling again?

The time is based on 50%. Using O2 cuts that in half. Likewise, having to use backgas doubles the time.

I see. So if the dive was using nothing but 50% you would have 15min. of deco from 70-30ft segment and 15min on the 20ft segment, but if you're using a combination of 50% and 100% you would have 15min. of deco on the 70-30ft. segment and 8min. of deco on the 20ft segment?

JeffG:
Oh...and this part is wrong too. ;)

JeffG:
My first stop would be at 110ft.

Arg.. yes.. because of the 80% of the ATA .. There's a reason why I don't use ratio deco right now and now you know why. :) Since the stops from 110 - 80 would be on back gas, is that a separate segment? Such as 15min @ 110-80, 15min @ 70-30, 8min @ 20-surface?

ScubaMilo:
Sorry didn't mean to sound like a censor.
Just saying that without the trainiing and the knowledge to go with the method it is not of much use.
Milo

I must be the computer geek here because I've always been an advocate that information should be free. What I do with the information is up to me, but I can tell you that I'm not going to go jump in the water without having a thorough understanding of the information. Doing some cyber diving with the information and looking for some input doesn't get anybody injured or killed though. :)

AG's paper is confusing. I read it onces and it made no sense to me at all. The more that I learn about decompression theory and read it again the more I pick up. That's how I learn though. I'll learn a little bit more about the decompression theory and play with the decompression software and compare the different models and the light bulb will probably turn on when I'm asleep one night.

No harm no foul right?
Refering to the deep stops they would be hard stops of 1min every 10 feet from 80% of ATA's(110ft) to the first gas switch(70ft).
Hope this helps,
Milo

OK....after 5 pages of discussion you guys got this figured out yet???? LOL

lol.

I'd better stop reading it before I forget how I do it :D

Tek Adventure Diver:
Can some one tell me the pros and cons of using 80% for deco and o2 for deco. Which is better to dive with?
Thanks for the help:)
Sure hope you got your answer before this thread was hopelessly assimilated by the collective:shakehead

I didnt think you halved the "O2 segment" if you are using 100% over 50% only that one would double it if running it on backgas rather then a deco gas.
