LobstaMan:
I lost $500 million in coins when I was sailing off the coast of England a few years ago.
Man... I wish we'd met before you wrecked your 17th century galleon. That would have made a cool day-sailer

does any know how much a troy oz. is ?

1 oz Avd = .9115 oz Troy
1 oz Troy = 31.1035 grams

Hard value is that 500,000 coins = 500,000 troy oz of 90% silver =

450,000 troy oz pure silver @ $12.90 per oz = $5,805,000 melt value

Now coins of the type that they say they are sell at about $60-$100 each on ebay

So, 500,000 x $60 = $30,000,000
500,000 x $100 = $50,000,000

The $1000 per coin was never given by Odyssey Marine Exploration, the only people who are stating values like that are the yellow press quoting each other.
