We should have them back Monday or Tuesday  We had them shipped straight to the BTS show this past weekend, and we flew in. So we couldn't bring them all back on the flight. A very nice man offered to bring them home and ship them....they just shipped back to us on Thursday :)

As for the Canadian shipping, we do offer USPS shipping, and also UPS. UPS just started a Canadian program that hardly anyone has signed up for. It is a flat $10 brokerage on orders of less than $250, and $20 on more than $250. I am not trying to talk you into using them, LOL, as I know a ton of people got burnt by UPS. Just sayin it's an option.

As for the shipping prices, as it states on our site, when you get to shipping, the Shipping Estimator can be high sometimes as it is just a computer and doesn't fully compute properly for certain items. Just email us asking for a quote, or know that we only charge actual shipping charges and will edit the invoice before we ring you up so you only get charged real shipping charges. We don't make money on shipping, that is a silly practice  The nice thing about our system is it doesn't run you card. We do that manually so we can edit it anyway we want :D

Don't worry, we only have our customers best interests in mind....like others said, we work for you and you can actually trust us not to screw you...on purpose at least :D ha ha

To be clear, I started by warning off topic - the rant was not a directed (at you) rant. It was more general.

USPS / Canada Post charge $0 as a brokerage charge. UPS will always be crooks and I will never again, given a choice, use them cross-border.

Your shipping may well be more reasonable than most, but the reported $20 is still too much for a flashlight IMO, especially @ 25% of the sales value. That's an opinion, no more.

On a larger order your shipping may well be reasonable. I don't know. Again, I simply took this thread as an opportunity to provide a general comment.

While it may have just been a comment, i dont think its fair to post something about poor shipping and service about UPS when it has nothing to do about DRIS. Especially when they have some of the best service i have seen, just dont think its fair to Mike, maybe start your own topic next time you want to go on a rant.

What you fail to account for is the fact that no shipping company at this level cares what your item is worth. UPS does not price as a percentage of shipment value. Maybe the fact that 25% is too high is indisputable proof that this light is such a tremendous deal. I for one think your complaints have nothing to do with DRIS or this product and are therefore misplaced. Just my opinion though.

Nice dogpile.

Was my comment the only negative one about shipping costs to Canada? No. Nor was it the first.

Did I introduce the side topic? No.

Maybe the next time you poke someone about being fair, you should make an effort to be so yourself.

International Price Calculator

USPS first class mail to Canada, Max. length 24", max length, height and depth (thickness) combined 36", entered 2 lbs as the weight (I don't know what it weighs), $9.15. The point was not what the flashlight was worth. The point is that $20 is a lot to ship a flashlight. That's all.

DV said in post #104 that ($20) is what he paid. It does have to do with DRIS and is a fair comment.

You also commented that it was expensive to ship to Canada. Was your "complaint" also misplaced?

I think it is a nice light. I have been following this thread from the start, debating whether it was nice enough to warrant the cross border order. I have debated this all month. I finally decided that - to me - the additional costs were higher than I want to pay. Are only favourable responses allowed?

Is this an issue that is particular to DRIS as it serves Canadian customers? Of course not. But it does affect them.

I'm out.

Cross the border and open a PO box. Problem solved.
