This is a fascinating report Glad you are having a great time. I've read your other posts before with regard to Bali info Very helpful I arrive the day after you leave Thank you

Dove with the Manta in Bali ! It had a 9ft wing span and was beautiful. No Mola/Mola but a huge Nepolian. Met a Dutch couple and joined them as a third partner. CMAST divers consistently stand out as skilled divers and partners! I wish everyone payed this close attention.

The weather is not great at the moment and there are lots of swells - the diving is rough the surface rougher. Too spoiled at this point to dive in these conditions. Topside in the relaxing seaside town of Padangbai Bali. Fantastic grilled fresh fish and cute little cafes, contemplating my next adventure......

Ha! Decided to leave tourist packed Bali and familiar dive sites behind and off to the south of Lombok to meet a friend and awsome dive partner! New dive turf, fewer people, quiet litle surf town and the promise of white sand beaches and hammocks!!

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:Oh TC! Now pull your mind out of the gutter:rofl3::rofl3:

Do we have to? OK....just give me a minute..........OK. A 9' manta. That would be spectacular. Were you able to acquire any video footage of it swimming? That (along with a whale) is a wish list "to-dive-with" animal.

Now everyone that knows Kathy understands her figurative language; Kathy is like the Florida thunder showers that hit in the summer...

They strike like a fury, end in a second and are gone only to reveal the rays of the Sun that break through the clouds...

That is Kathy, a free spirited diver that can find friends in the most remote parts of the world and then only her memories last, how do I know?

Easy, I miss her a lot, only her memories exist, she is fun to be around and makes diving even funner, but you need to put a tracker on her because she'll be gone before you had a chance to introduce yourself.

K, when will you ever be back so we all can dive with you in our waters??? :)

Mike - I was joking, I know Kathy did not participate in a threesome and even if she did, more power to ya, girl!!! She gonna kill me when she reads this. :rofl3:

Only a blurred picture as it was skimming along the bottom and the sky was cloudy with no sun rays.

But Steve, you must dive Manta Point in Bali where you have a great chance of seeing Manta as it is a cleaning station they often frequent. I may head back for another chance to glimpse the graceful giants ;-).

:rofl3:Mike your so sweet and creative. I'll be up for local diving on August 15th or any day after that? Jet lag should be caught up by then - my drysuit should be back in my hands (with new pockets!) :D!

You can laugh with me as I try to climb back into my drysuit and strap on all that weight and feel the cold water again :D! I'm missing the sea lions :D!

:rofl3::rofl3: Not even close to a threesome with all this neoprene :D. Although come to think of it the guy diver was sandwiched between two gal diving partners and CMAST divers do stick very close to their buddies! :rofl3:

Took a ferry and shuttle across the Wallace line to Lombok and down to the southern shore. There is a reason diving isn't very popular here, huge surf, unpredictable currents and poor vis. Peaceful little surf town - a great vacation from the tourist chaos of bali during high season. Muslim mosques everywhere, little children playing in the streets, motorcycles with surf boards and a very peaceful vibe.
