3mm w/ sealed seams equivalent to 5mm without?

Hey there, would a 3mm thick wetsuit with sealed seams be equivalent in warmth to a 5mm suit without sealed seams?

Would 5mm with sealed seams be too warm for a small diver with low body fat be too warm for diving in warm water?
