I leave my 2nd chamber (a 16" LF) pressurized all the time.

BTW the check valve on the outlet of the Alkins primary is so-so at maintaining pressure. You will get some backflow/depressurization over time back through the primary and the 3rd stage. If the 2nd chamber is left at 3000 psi in a week it might be 2000 or so. I installed a valve between my chambers because I was have a hard time diagnosing leaks. With the valve I was able to track it down.
