Hello,

I finally narrowed it down to 2 regs Cressi MC9 or Oceanic Alpha 9/CDX 5. The Cressi is almost 150$ cheaper and I know the Oceanic is a very reliable and good quality.

So I am wondering if anyone had any experience or heard anything about the Cressi regs, they are very big in Europe and they have been around for a long time and all of their products are made in Italy.

Cheers and thanks

Are you buying in New Zealand? What price is the Oceanic setup down there?

Nah I'm buying from Scubastore.com, prices in NZ would cause anyone a heart attack.

make sure you can actually get your equipment serviced locally. Mailing your gear off can add a lot to service cost. That being said, I have not yet seen a Cressi service center

@runsongas if I was going to spend this much more, I'd get the MK11 or MK17. But the thing is I'm putting a budget cap because I'll be doing around 20 dives a year.

@meesier42 Cressi has a local service centre.

I wouldn't touch Cressi regulators or any of their scuba equipment with a ten foot pole. ANYTHING but Cressi!
Could you expand on your recommendation, why? I know you have had extensive experience with rental regs, a much tougher environment than most of us have

Thanks

I assume you had a very bad experience with them.

I rented some gear a couple of weeks ago in Monterey. The Reg was an Alpha 9, I made sure I checked so that I DON'T but one. I really did not like it.
Just my 2 cents
