Hi all

Im new here and this is my first post.

I got this dive Computer from my uncle(see picture), and am batteling to find a manual for it. If anyone has a link to one it would be apreciated.

It has 3 metal dots on it which i figure are the buttons, and on the back it says Tested 12.87

Thanks in advance.

Peter

I can't tell from your picture but typically the contact by itself on one side is the base contact so touching it and another contact with wet fingers might do something. Or submerge it in water.

Something that old is realistically a paperweight though. The battery is probably gone and old Uwatec's were only factory serviceable since the battery is soldered in and encased in oil. When you could get it done, it was about $150. My 2000 Sport Ultra died a similar death. Since you can now buy a new computer for $149....

DiverSteve, has it right. Wet fingers to activate but if the battery is dead replacing it will probably not be worth the cost (if at all).

That said ScubaPro might cut you a break on a new computer from them if you give it to them as a museum piece.

Thanks for the replys.

It still has battery life, am starting my training this week and thought if i could get it working it will be a nice to have.
I can wake it up but thats as far as i can go

CPH all the manuals i found there are computers with 4 contacts. Mine only has 3

It looks like the original rev of my old Aladin Pro, which was an air (21%) only computer. The four contacts that you referenced (unlike the three contacts that you have) function to adjust the O2mix and dive log/dive plan in the newer Aladin Ultra Pro Nitrox (mine is about six years old now). Follow the other diver's posts above. Costs to change the battery is too expensive (if they will even do it anymore) as compared to buying a new computer. The decompression model is older than the current type, so it may be a little less conservative than what should be used.

Another minor note (doesn't really effect things too much): Since this is Swiss made, it's calibrated for fresh water, not salt. You will see a minor difference in depth in saltwater, if you use it next to a computer not made by Uwatec.

I still use my Uwatec Ultra Pro Nitrox. The battery has 57% left in it, but once it needs replacement, it's history. I'll consider another Uwatec, but I'll look at others too.

Good luck with it. Use it with care.

Safe diving to you.

And for the record, not all Uwatec computers have oil filled battery compartments. I have an older Aladdin with a screw port on the upper left corner. The battery is only available from a battery store (maybe $5) and yes, it's soldered in but it's not an oil filled compartment. I changed it myself it works perfectly.

Thanks for the info. At the moment im not realy that bothered about whether I have a computer or not, For the amount im going to be diving in the next 5 years dive tables will be fine. This being said before I experience diving.

Off on friday to start this sport
